    As a director of Seoul National University Global R&DB Center, I am honored to welcome you to the “GSDV 2020 Digital Symposia” to be held on October 27~30, 2020, with the theme of “New Deal, New Innovation & New Normal Transformation”.

    This conference is hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT, and organized by Seoul National University Global R&DB Center with the partners as follows: Siheung City, Institute of Information & Communications Technology Planning & Evaluation [IITP], International Technology Professional Program of Seoul National University [ITPP], Global Information & Telecommunication Technology Program of KAIST [ITTP], Science and Technology Policy Institute [STEPI], World Bank Group [WB], Green Climate Fund [GCF], LX Spatial Information Research Institute, Climate Technology Center and Network [CTCN], UNEP, and PASET RSIF, Korea Agency for Infrastructure Technology Advancement [KAIA], and Born2Global Centre, and International Energy Policy Program [IEPP]. I’d like to express my appreciation to renowned organizations for coordinating the implementation of conference programs.

    We are at the beginning of the Fourth Industrial Revolution era that represents fundamental changes in the way we live. It means that we live in a time of great promise and great peril. In this regard, the “GSDV 2020 Digital Symposia” provides a great framework to deal with critical issues associated with major impacts of new technologies on governments, businesses, civil society, and individuals for a sustainable development.

    Especially, this is our 10th anniversary of GSDV, which stands for Green Smart Development and Vision. As always, we endeavor to provide you with the various thematic sessions under four topics, “Green Innovation, Smart City Global Convergence, Development for Future, and Vision for Smart Singularity”, each day respectively. The comprehensive range of sessions include thought-provoking presentations, distinguished keynote speeches, in-depth discussions, and the opportunity to form lasting friendships with all parts of the world.

    The conference is designed to generate innovative investigations and acceleration of applications with collaborations across geographies, sectors, and disciplines. I am confident that it is a perfect platform to share the latest scientific advances and research results, discuss challenges and solutions, and establish productive global network. It brings together all the experts, researchers, influential entrepreneurs from industries, representatives of government agencies and international organizations to stimulate interdisciplinary interactions.

    In particular, I call for you to take collective responsibility in order to “shape a future together that works for all”.
